To celebrate and acknowledge Legal Aid Foundation’s 50th Anniversary in May 2009, we launched the $50 for 50 (years) Challenge with the premise that if every one of the over 1,200 lawyers in Santa Barbara County contributed just $50 to Legal Aid, we would be able to raise an additional $60,000 for direct services. Till date, we have raised little under $5,000! We have a long way to go and many more people continue to require our services daily. Current economic realities are taking a toll on low and middle income individuals who are seeking us out more than ever before.
